Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada (JGSSN), established in 1989, is a chapter of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) and "is dedicated to researching and preserving Jewish family history in the United States and throughout the world." In its early days, JGSSN met in the library in Temple Beth Sholom, but by the late 1990s, it became inactive. In 1998 Carole Montello reorganized and revitalized the Society.

Theresa Bradley interviews William W. Boyd, born in McNeil, Arkansas on January 27th, 1906, about his involvement in the gaming industry of Las Vegas. Boyd talks specifically about his experiences with five-card stud poker and his introduction of poker games without dealers to the poker room. Boyd also talks about his role as poker room manager at the Golden Nugget and how he was present to open the room when the casino first opened.
