Schoeman, Thomas J.

Thomas J. Schoeman was born May 18, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York, and was the first of his four siblings to graduate high school and attend college. Schoeman attended Nassau Community College and then transferred to the University of New Mexico in the early 1970s, from which he graduated in 1974. After spending his first five years out of college working as an architect in New Mexico, Schoeman received a job offer from Jack Miller and Associates (later, JMA Studio) and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1979.

Houghton, Fred B., 1894-1977

Fred Houghton was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1894. Houghton attended the University of Chicago Law School, and passed the Illinois State Bar examination at the age of 25. He received his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 1919. The next year, Houghton opened his own law practice and maintained the law firm until 1943, when he moved to California.

John Fildes, MD, FACS, FCCM, FPCS (Hon) is the Professor and Inaugural Chair of the Department of Surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. In addition, he was the Interim Associate Dean for External Affairs, serving from September 2019 through April 2020.

Franco, Dick, 1952-

Richard Francis or Dick Franco, his stage name, by which he is more commonly known, has been juggling for over 50 years, having learned the art while he was still in high school. Taught by prominent juggling legends in Vaudeville and Las Vegas, Franco would go on to perform all over the world. He began as an opening act with the Harlem Globetrotters in the US, but would go on to perform throughout Europe and was featured in variety and production shows in Blackpool, London, Monte Carlo, Berlin, and many other cities.

Brent, Evelyn, 1899-1975

American film star Evelyn Brent was born on October 20 between 1895 and 1901 in Tampa, Florida. She moved to Brooklyn, New York as a teenager where she earned jobs modeling. While in school, Brent visited the World Film Studio in Fort Lee, New Jersey and was offered a job acting. She made her screen debut in A Gentleman from Mississippi (1914), and went on to star in films and television until 1960. She starred in Howard Hughes' adaptation of Rex Beach's novel The Mating Call in 1928.
