Fry, Joseph A., 1947-

Dr. Joseph Fry was born West Virginia on May 21, 1947. He was the only child of an insurance salesman and a public school teacher. His parents met in Ronceverte, West Virginia, and lived for a while in his grandmother's boarding house. He had an idyllic childhood in this small town of 2500 people. After graduation, he was interested in playing college basketball and ended up at Davis and Elkins College in east central West Virginia.

George, Lloyd D., 1930-

Judge Lloyd D. George was born on February 22, 1930, in Montpelier, Idaho. He attended grade school and high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1955. Later that same year, he entered the United States Air Force and worked as a fighter pilot in the Strategic Air Command. In 1958, he concluded his military service as a captain and in 1961, earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

Ober, Harold "Hal", 1926-2007

Harold "Hal" Ober (1926-2007) was a Las Vegas, Nevada homebuilder responsible for nearly 30 local residential developments, including the Desert Shores master-planned community in northwest Las Vegas. Born May 6, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ober moved to Las Vegas with his wife D’Vorre in 1977. He started off as a division president for U.S. Home Corp and then became president of R.A. Homes in 1980. He founded his own development company, Ober Homes, in the early 1990s.

Urban, Ruth Pearson, 1948-

Ruth Pearson Urban was born in 1948 in Los Angeles, California. At the age of ten, she moved to Las Vegas with her mother and older sister. Urban spent most of her childhood in the Huntridge area and was always heavily involved with Temple Beth Sholom. After graduating from Las Vegas High School, Urban attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work, and later, a master’s degree in counseling.

Wasserman, David

David Wasserman in a Las Vegas dentist and cofounder of Congregation Ner Tamid. He was born on December 3, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey.  In 1966 he graduated from Rutgers University with his bachelors in Zoology.  In 1970 he recieved his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.  Upon grauation he served two years of active duty as a captain in the United States Air Force Dental Corps at Nellis Air Force Base. In 1972 he recieved his dental license and began his private practice that same year.

Lottie Ward married Cyril S. Wengert in 1921; they had five children:
