Description

David Wasserman in a Las Vegas dentist and cofounder of Congregation Ner Tamid. He was born on December 3, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey.  In 1966 he graduated from Rutgers University with his bachelors in Zoology.  In 1970 he recieved his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.  Upon grauation he served two years of active duty as a captain in the United States Air Force Dental Corps at Nellis Air Force Base. In 1972 he recieved his dental license and began his private practice that same year. Wasserman has recieved many accolades for his work in dentisty including being elected to the Academy of General Dentistry's prestigous Fellowship Award in 1983, becoming the first ever Clark COunty dentist to recieve the award.  Wasserman was the second Jewish dentist in Las Vegas after many years of the Dental Board blocking Jewish dentists.  During an outbreak of Aids, Dr. Wasserman, being aware of certain discrepancies of infection control in dentistry, invented the Sani-Tip.  The Sani-Tip is a disposable air/water syringe that is changed between patients to lessen the worry of contagions. Upon the founding of Congregation Ner Tamid Wasserman served as the vice president from 1974-1976 and as president on two occasions. He is also active in the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas and served on the board of directors for ten years.
