Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project

"The Oral History Research Center’s (OHRC) inaugural project captures the history of the Las Vegas by collecting stories of historical events, neighborhood and family interactions, and political proceedings. Always open-ended, allowing OHRC to interview residents over many decades and to enlarge the demographics whenever necessary, this project houses the history of dancers and showgirls, maids, politicians, golfers, dealers, teachers, and many others that share memories of Las Vegas. Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project

"The goal of this 2014-2015 project is to build a web and mobile resource that will connect researchers from around the world to thousands of historical items—photographs, brochures, scrapbooks, letters, drawings, videos, and more—detailing the lives and contributions of Jews in Southern Nevada. It will include carefully researched biographies, timelines, and histories of institutions, events, and prominent themes showing the integral roles Jews have played in the history of Southern Nevada.

Frost, Florence, 1929-

Florence Frost was born March 24, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York. She married Robert L. Frost in 1949 and had three daughters. Not long after she moved from New York City to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1960, she joined Temple Beth Sholom, where she worked as an executive secretary for two years. Frost worked in the banking industry for many years before she earned her broker's license in 1974. That same year, she opened her own real estate office in Las Vegas, Rancho Rodeo Realty, which she owned until 2004.
