Claire Kurlinski was born March 11, 1949. She is the daughter of Phyllis Walter Sawyer, who served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked as a teacher in Kingsville, Maryland, and Edward R. Sawyer. Clair Kurlinski married John Kurlinski.

Mortensen, Verna Calista Cox, 1904-1979

Teacher Verna Mortensen (1904-1979) was born to Frank and Elthera Cox in Bunkerville, Nevada. The family relocated to St. George, Utah in 1910. Verna Mortensen went on to graduate from Dixie State Junior College in St. George. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Eastern United States.

Berkovits, Myra, 1944-

Myra Berkovits (née Mosse) was born April 10, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Her father emigrated from Romania to Canada, later moving to Chicago, where he met Berkovits’s mother, a daughter of Russian immigrants. After graduating from Loyola University, Berkovits married and started her career as an educator teaching at an elementary school in inner city Chicago. She taught there for twelve years before moving with her husband, son and daughter to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Harrison, William Henry, 1773-1841

William Henry Harrison was an American politician and military officer who became the ninth President of the United States of America. In the 1840 presidential election, Harrison defeated the incumbent, Martin Van Buren and was sworn in as President on March 4, 1841. Twenty-two days into his presidency, he contracted pneumonia and died nine days later on April 4, 1841 in the shortest presidency to date, lasting thirty-one days and became the first United States President to die in office.

Lisle, Chloe, 1916-2001

Alberta Chloe Colvin was born on December 1, 1916 in Cherry, Nebraska. Chloe Calvin moved to Beatty, Nevada in the 1930s and worked as a schoolteacher. Chloe married Ralph Fairbanks Lisle on July 5, 1939. In 1955, the Lisle family opened a hardware store in Beatty. Chloe Lisle passed away on February 2, 2001 at the age of 84.

Lisle, Ralph Fairbanks, 1914-2004

Ralph Fairbanks Lisle was born on June 18, 1914 in Lyon, Nevada. He and his family moved to the mining community of Beatty, Nevada in 1938. Lisle held several elected office positions, including Nye County Commissioner, Justice of the Peace, and hospital board member. Ralph Lisle married Chloe Colvin on July 5, 1939 and opened a hardware store in Beatty, Nevada in 1955. Ralph Fairbanks Lisle passed away on January 16, 2004 at the age of 89.
