Ann Valder was born June 5, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent several years working at RKO Radio and then for Better Homes and Gardens magazine before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1957 with her husband B. C. Valder and their children. She first worked as the promotions coordinator for Radio KENO, before becoming a columnist and associate editor for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. After nine years, she moved to the Valley Times as women’s editor. In 1977, she returned to the Review-Journal as assistant society editor, a position she held until her retirement in 1983. Valder later worked as a society columnist for the Las Vegas Sun. Ann Valder passed away on June 15, 1987.
