Scope and Contents
In 2022, 34 graphite sketches were created by SK Schafer/Skydance Studio for Nevada Humanities (NH). Many were used in Nevada Humanities’ “Sagebrush to Sandstone: A Humanities Guide to Outdoor Nevada” published in 2023. Part nature guide, part poetry book, and part workbook, this 94-page guide is composed of poems by writers from around the state paired with art from Schafer and other Nevada artists depicting Nevada’s natural beauty. In addition, it contains creative prompts accompanied by scientific text to inspire more active and reflective engagement with the world around us.
