ABC 'Meet the Mojave' Project, 2002

The ABC Poster and Flash Card project was created in 2002 by Skydance Studio as a retail item to be sold in visitor centers throughout the Mojave Desert region. Both Red Rock Canyon NCA and Lake Mead NRA naturalists proofed the cards and information and approved them. The poster was carried in the gift shops and Visitor Centers of Red Rock Canyon NCA; Joshua Tree National Park; Nevada State Museum Las Vegas; Maturago Museum; Lake Mead NRA; and others in the Mojave region, as well as being sold at art fairs and online by Skydance Studio. These flash cards provide additional information about Mojave species of plants and animals. The flash cards when printed at 100% size provide scale drawings for some of the images depicted e.g. hummingbird nest and eggs, yucca seeds, adult Xantusia, coyote foot print etc. The cards were meant as a quick summary of facts about each species that might be of interest to elementary students when first learning about the Mojave Desert.
