Scope and Contents
The Early work and personal papers subseries (approximately 1950-2018) consists of photographic materials, correspondence, business files, and personal papers. The materials primarily document work that Robert Scott Hooper produced while living in Des Moines, Iowa and serving in the Army National Guard. Personal papers include birth, death, and marriage certificates for Hooper and his family, as well as some financial documents. This subseries also documents Hooper’s interest in automobiles, including sketches; photographs; Mongoose, his personal race car; race entries; and his repair company, Hooper-American.
