Biographical / Historical Note
Emily Budd is a Las Vegas, Nevada based artist and sculptor who uses her experiences as a foundry craftsperson and metalworker to create art that speculates on futurity and fossilization within a queer context. Budd has a BFA in Sculpture from the Miami University of Fine Arts and an MFA from the California College of Arts. Budd has been awarded various artist residencies and exhibited throughout the United States including the Goldwell Open Air Museum in Rhyolite, Nevada. As of 2021, Budd is a part-time instructor teaching sculpture and 3D foundations for the Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
