The Archaeo-Nevada Society (ANS) was incorporated in the State of Nevada as a nonprofit organization in 1966, and is composed of community members interested in various aspects of archaeology such as history, prehistory, and historic preservation. The society's purpose is to preserve Nevada's antiquities, encourage the study of archaeology, and to educate the public on the aims of archaeological research. Members are primarily students from the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), as well as community members who engage in archaeological activities for recreation and enjoyment.
Archaeo-Nevada is an affiliate of the Nevada Archaeological Association and the Society for American Archaeology.
