The Kerin Scianna Rodgers Papers consist of article clippings, memorandums, Democratic voting advertisements, election plans, 1986 list of primary candidates, and personal notes. It also includes copies of district court cases such as Democratic National Committee v. Republican National Committee and letters from officials she supported such as Nevada Supreme Court Justice Charles Springer, U.S Senate Candidate Maya Miller, Senator Howard W. Cannon, and Justice of the Peace Robert Miller. Documents from the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaign and detailed election day instructions are also included.

Biographical / Historical Note

Political activist Kerin Scianna Rodgers was born on March 14, 1936. She aided the Democratic party with campaigning in Nevada for state positions from 1974 through 1986. Rodgers worked with Flora Dungan as her campaign chairperson and served as the President of the Women’s Democratic Club of Clark County. She was successful in her campaign for University Regent District E and held a position on the Nevada Democratic Central Committee. She helped support Democrats in state elections and was involved with Get Out The Vote (GOTV), a movement dedicated to increasing voter turnout. Rodgers also owned a nightclub called Gypsy.
