The Renee Lee Papers span from the 1950s to 2012 and document the life of singer and actress Renee Lee through photographs, her original music scores, newspaper clippings, and a mid-career resume. The collection also includes an alphabetized card catalog of the private performances Lee booked from 1998-2012.

Biographical / Historical Note
Renee Lee grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she lived and worked during her young adult life as a Broadway actress and singer. After her stint on Broadway, Lee moved to Nevada with the production of Destry Rides. She made Las Vegas her permanent residence in 1962. She worked at many of the popular casinos of the time, including Desert Inn Hotel and Casino. Lee continued to perform into her later years, competing in senior beauty pageants and starring in the play Love Over 40 that ran at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.

These records are unprocessed. A rough inventory of the accession was created by Joyce Moore in 2013. In 2014, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project Hana Gutierrez created the collection description and brought it into compliance with current professional standards.
