Scope and Contents Note
The Las Vegas Township Inspector of Elections Tally Books date to 1911 and contain four tally books for the June 1, 1911 Las Vegas, Nevada Township local election; a tally list, poll list, ballot list, and rejected ballot list. The lists were compiled by Edward W. Griffith and Ernest L. Fenner as election inspectors, and further certified by election clerks L.D. Moore and J. A. Rhoads. The 1911 election was notable for the primary ballot question of whether or not the town should be chartered as an incorporated township and for the concurrent election of the town's first mayor and commissioners.
