Confirming phene conversation date concerning Nevada Public Service Commission Rule 8-a which provides effective September 1, 1951# for a charge of #5 for* a 3/4* water tap* 1 discussed with Mr* Allen, Chairman of the Commission, the question of charge for larger taps as included in our application* Mr* Allen stated the Commission was of the opinion that in order to prevent wastage and to equalise distribution, no tap larger than 3/4* should be permitted and it was on this basis the Commission approved rate of $$,00 for 3/4* tap* When X explained that the Board of Fire Undeiv wrlters and City Plumbing Code required larger services for multiple story and multiple tmit buildings, he advised that so far as the commercial and multiple unit buildings were concerned, we will have to install larger services, and the Commission will promptly consider application for connection charge,for such services* X suggest the following charges! 1M up to 50' ^ Q $25*00 ; - . i ‘ Over 1* and up to 2* M 50* long 50*00 Over 2* or services in excess of 50* Cost plus 10$ While the Plumbing Code for the larger homes, with sprinklers and other water using equipment such as washers and disposals, generally call for service connections larger than 3/4* and Mr. Allen was aware of Code requirements, he stated the Commission was satisfied that in order to conserve water, single residences should be confined to 3/4* services.
