 30 June 1934 Nevada State Journal Strange Malady Kills Nevada Boy "Tonopah - June 29, O. K. Reed Jr., 13 year old son of O. K. Reed, died at the miners Hospital here last night, the victim of a rare disease. After he had apparently recovered from an attack of tonsilitis he was taken with myelogenous leukemis and suffered with the disease for several weeks. He is survived by his father, his mother, Mrs. George Bruno of North Fork, NV and three sisterd, Mrs. J.M. Butler, Mrs. Ed Slavin and Mrs. Lucille Carter, all of this city."
