James Mitchell Fallman (1923-2002) was born in Lexington, Missouri to Mildred and Mitchell Fallman.
He graduated from Lexington High School and then attended Wentworth Military Academy, both located
in Missouri. Fallman enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 after marrying Ima Louise Allen on November 13, 1943. James and Ima Fallman were parents to James Mitchell Jr., Janice Marie, and Jacqueline Louise. During World War II, Fallman earned the rank of Private First Class and saw duty as part of the 137th Infantry, 35th Division, Company B. On July 17, 1944, Fallman was wounded at St. Lo, France, for which he received a Purple Heart medal. He also received the Combat Infantry badge, Bronze Star, Good Conduct medal, and American Campaign and European Theater ribbons. The French government awarded him the Victory Medal. After his injury, Fallman worked as a military policeman at a military hospital in Springfield, Missouri until being honorably discharged in 1945.
After leaving the Army, Fallman attended Central Missouri State University and earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Business Administration. Fallman managed his parents' bar, the Palace Hotel Bar, in
Lexington, Missouri. After moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1954, Fallman worked as a bartender at various establishments including the Boulder Club, the Fremont Hotel, the Mint, the Showboat, the Black Magic Club, and the Jungle Club. After his career as a bartender, Fallman worked as an insurance agent and retired in 1985. He passed away on October 4, 2002.
