Welt, Jerry

Gerald "Jerry" M. Welt is a lawyer and an active member of the Jewish community in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, Welt moved to Las Vegas in 1972 with his wife Marcy and their two children. Welt worked at the law firms of Senator Harry Reid and Mayor Oscar Goodman; his first job was at Beckley, DeLanoy, Jemison, and Reid, and he subsequently joined Goodman, Snyder and Gang to focus on civil litigation. He opened his own practice in 1975 and around the same time became general legal counsel for the Clark County Library District. He joined Nevada Trial Lawyers in 1977 and also co-chaired the Citizens for Justice trial lawyers political action committee. Active in Jewish organizations from a young age, Welt served as youth commissioner and education director for many years at Temple Beth Sholom in Las Vegas.
