The WM-11 Nevada Nuclear Waste Storage Investigations (NNWSI) State of Nevada series (1977-1986) contains technical reports, meeting agendas and minutes, Department of Energy (DOE) research briefings, and correspondence. The collection includes materials related to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and DOE pre-licensing activities regarding disposal of high-level nuclear waste in accordance with the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 and NRC reviews of site-by-site implementation of the DOE’s programs in accordance with the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act of 1978. Materials also include NRC and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) correspondence regarding high-level waste standards, NRC topical reports reviews and related correspondence, and correspondence from citizens and non-government organizations pertaining to the above topics. Contract files are identified by an alpha-numeric FIN (contract) number. The Technical reports and other Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Office (YMSCO) documents series (1958-2000) consists primarily of technical reports on nuclear waste and other materials relating to the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization project. Reports in this series cover studies of geologic features of Yucca Mountain, technologies tested, and potential hazards of high-level nuclear waste storage. Materials were compiled from those received from the YMSCO as well as documents pulled from the existing James R. Dickinson Library technical reports collection, including current awareness abstracts and other energy related materials, particularly solar energy.

The Regulations series (1988-1998) consists of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulatory documents. Materials include the 1988 and 1992 editions of rules and regulations issued by the NRC), as well as the 1998 edition of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10-Energy. The replaced pages for the 1988 edition are also available as supplements 1-35, issued from March 27, 1989-April 17, 1992. The replaced pages for the 1992 edition are available only as Supplement 1 issued August 17, 1992.
