The Elmo C. Bruner Architectural and Real Estate Appraisal Records date from 1937 to 1996 and contain architectural and appraisal records from Las Vegas, Nevada. Bruner joined A.L. Worswick’s office in 1947, taking it over following Worswick’s retirement in 1954. In 1958, Bruner formed the Las Vegas Appraisal and Finance Corporation. The bulk of the collection consists of appraisal records for residential and commercial properties in Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas. These records provide a detailed look at the urban development of the region as well as building design, style, and neighborhood characteristics. The architectural drawings highlight the work of Worswick and Bruner, including Frazier Hall at Las Vegas High School and the original adobe administration building at McCarran Airport.
The Paul May Papers (1963-1984) contain correspondence, reports and minutes from the Nevada Legislature, campaign materials, and invitations to various events.
The Junior League of Las Vegas Records (1940-2023) contain annual reports, fundraising information, training manuals, articles, minutes, photographs, scrapbooks, cookbooks, and other operational and working files that document the activities of the Junior League of Las Vegas (JLLV). Also included is documentation for advocacy projects the JLLV was involved with, such as Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), Safe Haven, the Ronald McDonald House, Read Aloud, and Literature Awareness Program for Children. Other records in this collection document JLLV's fundraising efforts such as the Repeat Boutique, Holiday Coffees, annual benefits, luncheons, and sales of their cookbooks. Also included are scrapbooks and issues of their newsletter The Sage.
The Thunderbird Hotel Records are comprised of material that documents the work of the Las Vegas, Nevada hotel's entertainment department from 1964 to 1973. The records consist of photographs, memorandum, newspaper clippings, and publicity materials.
