Ren Wicks was an artist known for designing artwork for Lockheed Corporation fights and bombers during World War II, as well as paintings for the National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA) of the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Wicks also worked for Howard Hughes, designing poster art of Jane Russell for The Outlaw (1943) and a number of RKO Radio Pictures films. Born on 1911 in New York, Wicks studied at the Art Center College of Design and Kann Institute in Los Angeles, California. He died in approximately 1997.
Alberto Vargas was an artist known for creating the "Vargas Girls" type of pin-up drawings for World War II aircraft and Playboy magazine. He also created artwork for RKO Radio Pictures during Howard Hughes' ownership. Vargas was born on February 09, 1896 in Arequipa, Peru and died on December 30, 1982 in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Ludwig M. Dieterich was an engineer known for his patents on color photography. Dieterich was born on September 4, 1867 in Graz, Austria to Rudolt von Dieterich and Malvine Rose Kiewicz. He naturalized as a United States citizen on December 29, 1905, and married Herma Bohm in 1895. Dieterich's work was used for the film coloring process in Multicolor, Limited, a company owned by Howard Hughes. Dieterich died on December 29, 1935 in Los Angeles, California.
