Description

A group portrait of Nevada Assemblywoman Eileen Brookman, 21th Nevada Governor Grant Sawyer and the International President of B’nai B’rith Women Wallye Rosenbluth. The man on the right is not identified. Date not specified; however the photo was taken while Wallye Rosenbluth served as International President of B'nai B'rith Women(1965-1968). The photo is autographed by Wallye Rosenbluth to Eileen Brookman. The inscription says: "Best wishes. Wallye Rosenbluth. Int. Pres. B'nai B'rith Women".

Abstract

The Blanche Zucker-Bozarth Papers document education advocate Blanche Zucker-Bozarth's volunteer work and activism in libraries, children's advocacy, and women’s clubs in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1963 to 2005. The collection includes records, newspaper clippings, and photographs from her political activism and fundraising initiatives in Southern Nevada. The collection also includes buttons, video tapes, and journal articles on child abuse prevention, as well as records from Zucker-Bozarth's term as president of the Mesquite Club in the 1980s.

The Felicia F. Campbell Collection on the Governor’s Commission on Status of People Records (1970-1977) is comprised primarily of meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and memorandums from the Nevada Commission. The collection also contains women’s rights commission handbooks from various states and correspondence and newspaper clippings pertaining to Campbell's professional life.

Description

Sharon Walker is a real estate investor, retired stockbroker and former loan officer. She was born on December 8, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Las Vegas with her family in 1963, where they started Walker Furniture, a store which they later sold to the Alterwitz family. Sharon's father, Julius Walker, was also in the casino business, becoming an owner of the El Cortez Hotel and Casino with Jackie Gaughan. Her mother, Anne Walker was a founding member of the first local Hadassah, The Women?s Zionist Organization. Sharon continues the family tradition of being active in Hadassah as well as being a Board Member of Jewish Family Service Agency. In November 2014 she was an honoree of Hadassah Leadership. In this interview, Sharon describes her adolescence in Las Vegas and the differences in culture as compared to her childhood in Toledo, Ohio. She also recalls the Walker Furniture business, her father?s careers, and her uncles Ed ?E? Walker and Lou ?Paddock? Walker.
