Abstract

The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Records (1911-2020) contain organizational documents from the Chamber’s history, including administrative and financial records, legal documents such as ordinances and legislation, newsletters and promotional guides, advertising and publicity materials for the city and its retailers, and original photographic prints, negatives, and reproductions. The collection also contains audiovisual materials featuring Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce events from approximately 1997 to 2013.

Abstract

The Credit Professionals of Las Vegas Records (1941-1999) include information about the organization and its two predecessors, the Credit Women's Club of Las Vegas, Nevada and the Credit Women's Breakfast Club of Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection includes scrapbooks, procedure manuals from the local and international division of the organization, awards received by the local division, and regional and local newsletters.

Description

A black and white image of Las Vegas Rotary Club members at a Christmas party in Las Vegas. The group is in front of the Apache Hotel. Club President A.C. Grant is seated beside a waving Santa Claus in an automobile bearing a sign that reads: "Rotary Xmas Party." Secretary Bryan L. Bunker is standing second from the right in the first row. This photo was taken from a time capsule in the cornerstone of the Union Pacific Railroad station located in Las Vegas. The time capsule was placed there in 1940 and was later retrieved when the building was demolished around 1970.

New keno lounge in the expanded Las Vegas Hilton. Stamped on original: "Las Vegas News Bureau. Las Vegas - Nevada Convention Center, 31238 Don English. Jerry Abbott. Joe Buck. Milt Palmer. Wolf Wergin. Gary Angell. Tony King. Jim Borrup. Lee McDonald. Herb Herpolsheimer." The International Hotel was built in 1968 and became the Las Vegas Hilton in 1971.

This group of men and women are standing in front of an unidentified building with signs advertising its dining room and the Apache Beauty Salon. This photo was taken from a time capsule in the cornerstone of the Union Pacific Railroad station located in Las Vegas. The time capsule was placed there in 1940 and was later retrieved when the building was demolished around 1970.
