Dennis Chamberland interviews Thomas Barbarite (b. 1932) in his home about his time in Las Vegas and his experiences in the casino industry. Barbarite discusses his time at the Four Queens and the Dunes as a dealer as well as his work as a pit boss at the Flamingo, the Aladdin, and Caesars Palace. Chamberland also asks Barbarite about the changes over time on the Strip, including the disappearance of lounge shows and expansion of larger shows on the Strip. Barbarite also discusses the involvement of the mob in Las Vegas, particularly the influence of Bugsy Siegel in the operation of various properties.

Interviewed by David Schwartz. Elliott Schecter got a job dealing poker at a private club in New York City to earn spending money while he was a student at Rutgers. He worked as a dealer on a casino cruise ship, then became the shift manager in the poker room at the Seminole Casino Hollywood in Florida when it opened. Elliott also worked on the Palm Beach Princess casino cruise ship, at the Reno Hilton, here in Las Vegas at the Palms, at the Downstream Casino Resort in Oklahoma, and was working at the Snoqualmie Casino in the Seattle area at the time of the interview. Leonardo Gray interviews his neighbor, local electrician Robert Allen III (b. 1947) at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Frankfort, Kentucky, Allen relocated to Nevada in 1953. During this interview Allen discusses the history of Las Vegas from his perspective, high school in Nevada, casinos, local television stations, sports and recreation, and the Strip.

Roger Bryan (born 1938 in Cedar City, Utah) is interviewed by Paul Murphy in his office about his experiences living in Las Vegas. Bryan, who was the principal of Harvey Dondero Elementary School at the time of the interview, mainly discusses his background in education and his experiences teaching at various schools around Southern Nevada. Bryan mentions several of the cities he lived in prior to coming to Las Vegas as well as the various parts of town he lived in after arriving. He also talks specifically about the schools he attended in Las Vegas, the superintendents in charge of the school district, the decisions he made while on the school board, some of his experiences in being a teacher and principal, the extent of vandalism in schools, and how the school district has changed over the years. Bryan additionally recalls the visits of political figures to Las Vegas, some of the developmental changes in Las Vegas over time, the role of the Mormon religion in his life, and the types of recreational activities he and his family took part in. Bryan finalizes the interview with a discussion of the most influential teachers he had when he was a student.

On March 4, 1978, Bill Cunningham interviewed Norman Forsythe (born 1927 in St. Paris, Ohio) about his experience as a firefighter in Las Vegas, Nevada. Forsythe discusses his original move to Las Vegas and his eventual joining of both the city of Las Vegas and Clark County Fire Departments. He also goes into detail about fighting the fire at the El Rancho Vegas in 1960. Forsythe also talks about the responsibilities as his then-current rank of battalion chief. The two also discuss housing in Las Vegas, the living conditions of the city, and Forsythe’s family. The interview concludes with Forsythe talking briefly about his family’s recreational activities and his experience as a baseball coach.
