The Riviera Hotel & Casino Publicity Collection and Architectural Records (1950s-2015) are comprised of entertainment, publicity and marketing files, and architectural drawings from the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The records include publicity photographs and videotapes, press kits, and information about various entertainers who appeared at the Riviera,publicity, promotional material, and newspaper clippings about events, and publicity photographs of restaurant and club venues within the hotel. Also included is information about the Riviera's longest running shows, Splash, La Cage, and Crazy Girls.
A postcard illustrating young men sitting on the floor playing poker with the title, "A Sunday School Class in the West". The caption on back reads, "This is a jolly group old time Cowboy friends. Sunday is a time of visiting on the western ranches, and the 'latch string' is always out for the strangers. These fellows are not disturbers of the peace as might be inferred from the photograph".
The Castaways Hotel and Casino Photograph Collection, approximately 1963 to 1987, consists of black-and-white and color photographic prints and negatives. Images depict the exterior of the entrance to the property, the mega-pylon sign, the pool area, and the “Gateway to Luck” replica temple in the courtyard area. The interior images depict various hotel rooms and suites, a couple dining, and a performance by Rusty Isabel, an entertainer in the Kon Tiki Lounge inside the property.
The UNLV Libraries Collection of Landmark Hotel and Casino Promotional and Press Materials includes newspaper clippings and promotional materials for the Landmark Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, dating from 1971-1995.
