Hicks, Dee, 1946-

Dee Hicks was born in Damascus, Arkansas in 1946. She was the tenth of 13 children born to Guy and Augusta Goff. Her father was a Baptist preacher and carpenter by trade, and her mother was a housewife. Hick’s decision to become a nurse became a focal point in her life in the tenth grade. She joined the Future Nurses’ Club and geared her high school classes toward nursing. Later, Hicks went to Oklahoma Baptist University and graduated with a bachelor of science in nursing.

Hedges, Hazel, 1922-2006

Hazel Mae Bowden was born on February 22, 1922. She married Hershell Wade on November 30, 1939, and had one son, James Hedges. The couple divorced and in 1950 she married Charles William Hedges. She moved from Kansas City to Las Vegas with her husband and son in 1952. She worked briefly as a waitress in the dining room at the Thunderbird and then became a stay at home mother until her son was in junior high school. Then after she went to real estate school, she went to work in commercial real estate at Bond Realty.

Dunbar, Jim, 1938-2019

James Fox "Jim" Dunbar was Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino's longest-tenured employee. He was born on June 22, 1938 in Los Angeles, California. His parents were Harold Leslie Dunbar and Elaine Mary Greenberg. Dunbar's father moved the family to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1943 to work as a taxi driver. On August 4, 1966, Dunbar worked at Caesars Palace at its grand opening as a valet, and continued working as a Caesars Palace valet until 2018. He died March 29, 2019.

Kerkorian, Kirk, 1917-2015

Kirk Kerkorian was born in 1917. He was highly influential in the building of Las Vegas, Nevada, especially the Las Vegas Strip area. He helped build Bally's, The International, and the MGM Grand. Kerkorian died on June 15, 2015.

Carl Ciliax was born November 7th, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has worked as a printer, horse wrangler, truck driver, desert nurser, and a foreman for the Kelly Pipe. He is an avid hunter and has an interest in conservationism.
