Irene Doty was born July 16, 1914 in Dangerfield, Texas. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in December of 1942, spending her first Christmas in the city at the El Cortez Hotel. She was a justice of the peace in Las Vegas, and even stood in a jury for potential murder cases. Doty passed away in September of 1978.
Maryann (Timbuck) Rivera was born November 29, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rivera’s grandparents arrived to Las Vegas in 1905 and became integrated in the small city by becoming lawyers. Her mother was also involved with community groups, like the Junior League Basketball Team. Rivera married her husband, Lyle, in 1967.
Charlene Cox Cruze was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her early ancestors traveled through the area in the 1850s, and her grandparents settled in Las Vegas in 1905, the year it was founded. She is a registered Cherokee, Daughter of the American Revolution, and Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. As of 2010 she worked as a Las Vegas tour guide.
Joe Friedman worked in Caesars Tahoe, first as a cashier in the nightclub and later as a dealer. He also spent six months dealing in the casino on the Cyrstal Harmony. Joe moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and worked at various casinos such as the Hard Rock, Green Valley Ranch, Wynn, Palms, and MGM as a dealer, pit manager, and an assistant shift manager.
Robin Wadley-Munier was born January 9, 1948 and was raised in Monroe, Louisiana. Wadley-Munier married her husband, Fredric Earl Munier, in 1980 and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1987. She held occupations as a special assistant to the City Counsel and a teacher assistant at Clark High School.
Jack “Edward” Cason was born March 18, 1927. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950 with his wife, Maxine. They bought a house on Ashby Avenue in 1964 and spent the next twenty years remodeling the house, while raising their own kids and other people’s kids.
Juan Saa entered the gaming industry in information technology at Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park in Pompano Beach, Florida in 2006. Saa would later transition into performance manager and director of slot operations at two properties in Black Hawk, Colorado: Isle Casino Hotel Black Hawk, and Lady Luck Casino Hotel Black Hawk.
B. J. Thomas was born in 1935 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. He moved to Las Vegas in 1968 after working for the Post Office in San Francisco. He worked a number of jobs for two years before beginning to pursue work as a stage hand. Thomas worked for shows at the
Tropicana and Caesars Palace. He is currently retired
Louis La Porta grew up in Tuckahoe, New York. He served in the United States Air Force. He moved to Henderson, Nevada during World War II. La Porta served on the city concil of Henderson, Nevada, and the Board of Clark County.
Joanne Imprescia was born in Keokuk, Iowa to parents Ernest Ellis and Lilian Bishop. She came to Las Vegas, Nevada in August of 1951 and discusses the growth of Las Vegas and the social climate of the 1950s. Imprescia worked as a hairdresser. Her first husband was Robert Madura, and her second husband (deceased at the time of her interview) was Joseph Imprescia.
