Beltran, Yazmin (1985)

Yazmin Beltran Elizade was born (1985) and raised in a Mexico that was increasing in violence and danger. Over the years, her father Jose Beltran dreamed of the opportunities of a better life in the United States. Eventually, that dream became a reality in Las Vegas when Yazmin was a teenager. By then, she had aspirations to become a lawyer and fight criminal activity.

Toston, Roosevelt

Roosevelt Toston was born May 7, 1942 and raised in Epps, Louisiana, He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 15 to live with his brother after his father's death. He graduated from Las Vegas High School and the first jobs he held were at the Fremont Hotel and the Nevada Test Site.

MacMillan, Judy L., 1949-

Judy MacMillan was a board member of the Desert Newcomers Club, a non-profit social organization for women living in Henderson and Boulder City, Nevada. She was born September 2, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri, but grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. MacMillan moved to Toledo, California in the 1960s, then later moved Las Vegas, Nevada sometime after her marriage.

Denton, Ralph, 1925-2012

Ralph Denton was born September 8, 1925. He received his education in law school alongside longtime friend and Nevada governor, Grant Sawyer. Denton worked on campaigning, eventually landing a job as Sawyer’s advisor after he became governor. Denton also worked as a Clark County, Nevada Commissioner and a district attorney in Esmeralda County, Nevada. He passed away July 6, 2012.
