The North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Records documents the activities of the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce in southern Nevada from approximately 1970 to 2007. The majority of this collection is comprised of photographs and scrapbooks documenting North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce member events. The collection also includes business guides, event invitations, and issues of the organization’s monthly newsletters, Just North and Look North.
The Joe Williams Music Scores date from 1940 to 1991 and comprise the handwritten musical scores of American jazz musician Joe Williams, born Joseph Goreed. Many of the musical scores are Williams' original arrangements.
The Aaron Williams Photograph Collection (approximately 1968 to 1983) consists of three black-and-white photographic prints. Two of the images are of the groundbreaking ceremony of the Senior Citizens’ Center with Las Vegas, Nevada Mayor Oran Gragson, and the third of three unidentified individuals.
The Stephen Nasser Papers (1992-2018) mainly contain letters written from school children to Nasser who travels to schools, churches, and organizations around Las Vegas, Nevada to share his story of surviving the Holocaust during World War II. Materials in this collection document his captivity in various prison camps and includes photographs, awards, and newspaper clippings. Also included are speeches given by Nasser and book reviews and a teacher's guide of his book My Brother's Voice written by students of Dixie College, St. George, Utah. This collection includes a copy of Pista, a documentary film profiling Nasser's life. The collection also includes a script, flyer, and newspaper clippings about the stageplay (Not Yet Pista) adaptation of the documentary.
The Stella Champo Iaconis Papers consist of a certificate for proficiency in Rapid Legible Business Writing from the Palmer Method of Business Writing given on May 11, 1927; a certificate of promotion to high school in Clark County, Nevada dated May 25, 1927; and an autograph book signed by classmates at Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1928.
Helen Jane Wiser Stewart was born in 1854 in Springfield, Illinois. When she was nine years old, the family moved to Nevada, and then to Sacramento, California in 1863. Helen was educated in Sacramento and in 1873 she married Archibald Stewart in Stockton, California.
The Scott Henry Photographs of the Las Vegas, Latinx Community (approximately 1983-2000) consist of 42 photographic prints depicting members of the Latinx community in Las Vegas, Nevada. Thirty-eight of the prints were used as part of a collaborative project between Scott Henry, photographer and editor for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and Thomas Rodriguez, a prominent member of the Latinx community in Las Vegas, for an exhibit of the Las Vegas Latinx community. Henry and Rodriguez together planned who to photograph for the exhibit. The photographs demonstrate the impact that the Latinx community has on the region's political, economic, and social growth and development. A number of the photographs show early members of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), including John Mendoza, Delia Martinez, Tom Rodriguez, Bob Agonia, Corrine Gutierrez, Nick Flores, Grace Salazar, and Gus Ramos.
