I am sure you will need consolation when this reaches you but rejoice for us that your loss is our gain,. One great objection to our good old U.S.A. is its size. I really believe Mary and Joan will be happy and comfy here. It is almost country life and we will do all we can for them. The [Addisons?] is written on the back of the holiday postcard.

A messgae on the back of the photograph. It reads: "1920-1954. This was a mizers Castle in Goldfield Nevada. John Bush - lived here 30 years alone while saved 100 thousand dollars, no water or electricity were in this house He worked extremely(?) hard - was student of the Bible never spent nothing at all on himself. Cut his own hair wore socks on his feet in the winter saved on shoes and in the last(?) married a rich woman and is still living"

Back of postcard, dated January 6, 1933. Reads: "Dear Edith and Ed. Having dinner here tonight with my charming neice, who is dressed in a beautiful black evening gown and never looked better in her life. Received Ed's letter and will answer shortly. Sorry to learn of your recent troubles and trust all has been adjusted by now. Lovingly, Warren."
