    In consequence of the heavy expense of getting machinery here we are short of mills being only two in the district One large one oftwenty stamps and one of five stamps. The yield of the large mill is about $200,000 per month in bullion. this mill is running onentirely first class ore. The yield of the small mill is less in proportion as the ore worked is of lower grade and the yield of the mill is about $32,000 per month. Each mill is owned by a mining company and work their ore exclusively leaving all outside mine owners out. who are unable to build their own mills, There are now two mills in course of construction to do custom work when they are completed so the miners can take their grists to the mill as a farmer does his corn and get it worked then one mill will produce more bullion than all the balance put together as there are now hundreds of tons of ore on top of the ground waiting for mills to turn it into silver bars.
