McPhee, James S. "Jim", 1942-1995

UNLV librarian, head of library instruction and pioneer in emerging technologies in libraries. Born Nov. 9, 1942, died Jan. 22, 1995 of cancer. The McPhee Libraian of the Year award is named for him.

The cul-de-sac terminating Horseshoe Rock Court as seen from above near Epic View Court in Ascaya, a luxury home development carved into the McCullough Mountain range in Henderson, Nevada. The project's infrastructure was built completely with materials mined on site and all major improvements were installed prior to beginning sales.

Kelch, Laura Belle

Laura Belle Kelch was born September 1, 1912, in Cincinnati, Ohio and came to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1939. Before moving West, she attended the University of Cincinnati and pursued a degree in the field of Applied Arts. Kelch later lived in New York City, New York and Los Angeles, California before finally making Las Vegas her home.
