Adelson, Merv

Mervyn L. "Merv" Adelson (1929- ) is a co-founder of Lorimar Telepictures Corporation and a former Las Vegas, Nevada real estate developer. Adelson founded Paradise Development Company with Moe Dalitz, Irwin Molasky, and Allard Roen in Las Vegas in 1951. The partners built Sunrise Hospital, Boulevard Mall, residential neighborhoods, and several buildings for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. When Adelson's father died of cancer in 1978, he and Molasky decided to build Nathan Adelson Hospice in his honor.

Gordon, Gerald, 1948-

Taken from bio on JHP: "In 1961, at the age of thirteen, Gerald “Jerry” Gordon became a bar mitzvah. This typical coming of age celebration was unusual in that he had simultaneously studied in both his home state of California and his adopted home of Las Vegas, where he spent summers with his grandparents. 1961 is also the same year that the Gordons made Las Vegas their permanent home.  Jerry graduated from Las Vegas High School, attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earned his law degree from University of California, Los Angeles.

Gordon, Gerald (Lawyer)

Roen, Allard, 1921-2008

Allard Frank Roen, age 87, of La Costa in Carlsbad, CA passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008, succumbing to complications of heart disease. He was born May 8, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a resident of La Costa for 41 years. Allard graduated Duke University in 1943 with a degree in business. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1943 thru 1946; participating in the Gilbert Islands and Okinawa campaigns. Following his discharge in 1946, Allard worked in Palm Beach, Florida, as a hotel contractor and builder.
