They also describe booms in the real estate market and growth in the artistic and cultural aspects of Las Vegas. Debbie provides a perspective of the growth of the local Jewish community.

Morris "Moe" Dalitz oral history interview

Abstract

Oral history interviews with Morris B. “Moe” Dalitz conducted by Brenda Baxter in 1977 and 1978 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In these interviews, Dalitz discusses his upbringing and military service prior to entering the nightclub and casino industry. He then discusses his arrival in Las Vegas, Nevada and partnership with Wilbur Clark at the Desert Inn. He describes the process by which he purchased land for a golf course behind the Desert Inn, and the impacts of desert water rights on the development of the golf course. He then discusses his involvement with The Stardust, segregation policies, skimming and corruption among Las Vegas hotels and casinos, and future plans for a hotel and casino in Downtown Las Vegas.

Henry Kronberg oral history interview

Oral history interview with Henry Kronberg conducted by Barbara Tabach on February 26, 2015 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In this interview Kronberg talks about his childhood in Germany and Poland, his experience being imprisoned by the Gestapo, and being transported to a concentration camp. He talks about surviving the Holocaust and meeting his wife. He discusses being reunited with his sister in Las Vegas, Nevada after decades of searching. Kronberg discusses purchasing Stoney's, a loan and pawn shop, anti-Semitism, and water resources in Southern Nevada.

Maurer-Schwartz, with her wife Edna Rice, talks about being part of the gay/Jewish life together over the years including in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both women discuss why they moved to Nevada and the early days of The Center, an LGBT center, which hosted a Passover Seder.
