Description
Interviewed by Laurents Bañuelos-Benitez. Nery Martinez was born in El Salvador, he describes his childhood as one filled with war and violence. When Martinez was five years old, the small country of El Salvador erupted in civil war. Martinez describes the panic that he saw growing up, never being certain when violence could occurred. The 12 year war took up the entirety of Martinez's childhood. After the war, the country was left in runes, seeing little hope for recovery, Martinez left El Salvador for Las Vegas where his brothers had fled earlier during the war. In Las Vegas, Martinez was able to find work in the service industry, at the same time attending English classes at night. Martinez is currently working as a bartender within the Culinary Union. Oral history interview with Mauricia Baca conducted by Claytee D. White on March 7, 2019 for the Remembering 1 October Oral History Project. Mauricia Baca discusses her early life, her education, and her experiences living in New York City, New York before she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She also relates her experiences on and after the 1 October mass shooting. Baca relates information on her agency, Get Outdoors Nevada. Baca shares how her agency worked with the City of Las Vegas in the construction and operation of the Healing Garden. Finally, she discusses the book she helped author regarding 1 October.

Abstract
The Antonio Morelli Photograph Collection documents the professional and private life of the Sands Hotel Orchestra conductor, Antonio Morelli, from 1932 to approximately 1970. The majority of the photographs show events, Copa Room showgirls, and the orchestra at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1950s and 1960s. Subjects depicted in the photographs include a Copa girl with an atomic bomb crown, Joe W. Brown's Horseshoe million dollar display at Binion's Hotel and Casino, and Antonio Morelli performing with Jimmy Durante and Carl Cohen.

The Ray Cutright Collection of Winthrop A. Davis Photographs (approximately 1929-1939) consists of black-and-white photographic prints with some corresponding negatives and slides of the construction of Hoover Dam and the geographic terrain of southern Nevada during the early 1930s. Included are photographs of the geographic area around the dam site, Black Canyon, and Boulder City, Nevada. Photographs depict the construction of facilities and roads needed for the project.

The C. D. Baker Photograph Collection depicts former Las Vegas, Nevada mayor Charles Duncan "C. D." Baker from 1916 to 1966. The photographs primarily depict Baker at political events, including campaign stops, fundraising events, meetings with officials and politicians, and at important locations in Las Vegas and Nevada. Baker was photographed with politicians such as U.S. Senator Chic Hecht, President Harry S. Truman, Governor Vail Pittman, and Lt. Governor Cliff Jones.

The Historic American Buildings Survey of Kiel Ranch Photograph Collection contains 45 black-and-white photographs of the buildings on Kiel Ranch from 1988. The buildings documented by the collection are the park mansion, the adobe structure, an old house, the foreman's house, a shed referred to as the "Doll House," a brown house, a cinderblock house, a wooden duplex, and a livestock shed.
