From the Dennis McBride Photograph Collection (PH-00263) -- LGBTQ+ events and organizations in Las Vegas, Nevada -- Digital images file. Notes from the donor, Dennis McBride: This billboard advertises the Divas female impersonation revue, hosted by noted female impersonator Frank Marino. Marino had been the star of the Riviera Hotel's An Evening at La Cage, which was closed on February 9, 2009. Marino reconstituted his show as Divas and performed it at other Strip venues. The Quad Hotel and Casino was the changed name of the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino from 2012-2014 after which it became known as the Linq. Construction on the Fountainbleau (tall blue building) ceased in 2009, while Boyd Gaming's Echelon Project stopped construction on former Stardust site back in 2008. That project was revived as the Resorts World Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority has scheduled the demolition of the Riviera Hotel and Casino for in summer 2016 to make way for a convention center expansion.
