The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Office of the Vice President for Research Records (1990-1992) mainly contains researcher grant proposal files kept by Dr. David McNelis who was the Associate Vice President for Research at UNLV from 1990 to 1994. Materials include applications, reports, and correspondence related to the Cray Research, Inc. and National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment as well as applications for various UNLV research support grants. Nomination letters and applications for the first annual Nevada Regents' Researcher Award are also included in this collection. The collection also includes correspondence, reports, and research materials from UNLV's Academic Master Planning committee which was tasked with developing a long range development plan for the university in the early 1990s.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas University Subject Files (approximately 1960-2000) contain subject files on a wide variety of campus clubs, organizations, events, and programs. Subjects include water and the environment, disabilities, discrimination, student groups, faculty and staff resources, and more.

Oral history interview with Michael Don Frazier conducted by Claytee D. White on September 15, 2017 and September 29, 2017 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In the first interview, Frazier discusses his early life in Osage County, Oklahoma. He talks about being a member of the Boy Scouts of America, attending the University of Tulsa, and his early interest in paper preservation. Frazier recalls working at his first conservation laboratory and repairing books. In the second interview, Frazier discusses digitization in his field of work, and the process of determining what items are worth repairing.

Oral history interview with Maxine and Jack Cason conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on September 22, 1016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Jack discusses his early life in Oklahoma and arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950. He recalls the formation of Saveway Super Service, Philips 66 service stations, the competition in the fuel industry, and the opening of the first Rebel service station. Jack talks about fuel terminals, fuel bulk plants, and becoming one of the largest fuel providers in southern Nevada. Later, Maxine and Jack talk about supporting local sports organizations. Lastly, Jack discusses his involvement in the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Athletics Department, and being inducted into the UNLV Sports Hall of Fame.

Oral history interview with Mario Berlanga Jr. conducted by Claytee D. White on July 26, 2017 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Berlanga discusses his upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada and growing up in the Westside community. He discusses his experience working at supermarkets, becoming a supermarket owner, and establishing his business, Mario’s Westside Market. Berlanga talks about supporting the children of the community, working with the local police, and the growth of his business. Lastly, Berlanga discusses the redevelopment of the Westside neighborhood.

Oral history interview with Fred Keeton conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on October 20, 2016 for the Building Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Keeton discusses his early life in Mississippi. He talks about the complexity of corporate diversity and the importance of inclusion for business ecosystems. Lastly, Keeton describes how Caesars Palace has developed their business performance, the idea of Complexity Science, and complex adaptive systems.

Oral history interview with Donald Fabbi conducted by Claytee D. White on October 24, 2017 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Fabbi discusses his family background in Tonapah, Nevada and Silver Peak, Nevada. He talks about his family’s move to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942 and his employment at the Nevada Power Company. Fabbi recalls the Helldorado parade, the Moulin Rouge casino, and the volunteering he has done around the city.
