Lomie Gray Heard was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Heard arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada during World War II. She attended the Colorado College of Education in Greely, Colorado. She spent over thirty years working in education.

Williams Helms was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Helms moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in March 1943. He worked as a truck driver and educator. He held positions as dean of students at Clark High School and as dean of students at Bonanza High School.

Dr. Nell Jeffers was born in Houston, Texas. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1961. Dr. Jeffers worked as a student and faculty counselor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Kenneth Johann was born in New York, New York. He arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada in November of 1948.

Nevada Assemblyman, Senator, and Regent, Dr. Jack Schofield was born in 1923 and passed away in 2015. In 1941 he graduated from Las Vegas High School, married Alene Earl, and became the Golden Gloves welterweight boxing champion. He earned a bachelor's of science degree from the University of Utah in 1949, a master's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1967, and a doctorate in education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1995.
