The percussion section of March Air Force Base band performs at a Nellis Air Force Base (Nevada) open house event. A bass drum bears the legend "15th U.S. Air Force Band, March Air Force Base, California." The 15th U.S. Air Force Band was its title between 1965-1991, when it became known as the 15th Air Force Band of the Golden West; in 1997 it became known as the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West. Fremont Street looking northwest from Second Street towards the Union Pacific Railroad station, Las Vegas, Nevada. The El Dorado and Hotel Apache, the Boulder Club, and Overland Hotel are seen on the north side of the street, along with a neon sign featuring an early version of Vegas Vic. William Boyd was best known for his portrayal of the character Hopalong Cassidy in western films of the 1930s-1940s. Grace Bradley Boyd was Boyd's wife from 1937 until his death. Description

Ethelda Thelan takes a detailed look back at her long career in public nursing, starting with her education at University of California San Francisco. She came to Nevada in June of 1951, after working at the school of nursing in Charlottesville, Virginia. After two years at the Washoe Medical Center in northern Nevada, Ethelda became a staff public health nurse at Washoe County Health Department and eventually joined the Nevada Nurses Association (1955). She mentions many doctors and nurses with whom she worked in both northern and southern Nevada, and details responsibilities and actions taken by her and others for both public health and continuing education for nurses. Ethelda offers up memories of early Las Vegas, opinions on how Las Vegans felt about atomic testing at the Test Site, her varied work history, and her continuing education business. She also suggests other sources for researching information about the medical profession in Nevada.

On March 16, 1978, collector John Russell Foreman interviewed Irving Junior Foreman (born June 25th, 1930 in Beaver, Utah) in North Las Vegas, Nevada. In this interview, Foreman speaks about his career in the construction industry in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also discusses the changes in the construction industry from the 1950s to the 1970s, including the machinery used.

The massive MGM Grand Hotel, a $120 million resort complex, is the entertainment capital of Las Vegas, where it dominates the skyline and activites of the exciting Strip. Included in its facilities are two major showrooms, a lively lounge, Jai Alai fronton, movie theatre, six restaurants and a shoppng arcade." The MGM Grand Hotel was burned by a fire in 1980, rebuilt in 1981, and sold to Bally's Corporation to become Bally's Las Vegas in 1985.
