Abstract
The Jany Ortiz-Robinson Papers (1984-2020) contain the papers of Ortiz-Robinson, who has worked in Nevada's early childhood education field for over twenty years. The collection mainly consists of awards and certificates awarded to Ortiz-Robinson over her career, from various organizations including the Economic Opportunity Board of Clark County, The Nevada Registry, Clark County School District, and the Nevada Association of the Education of Young Children. Also included is a copy of her dissertation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), materials documenting graduation ceremonies, and yearbooks from her time at Moapa Valley High School and the University of San Francisco. A scrapbook documenting her senior year at Moapa Valley High School (1984-1985) contains photographs, ephemera, newspaper clippings, and handwritten notes about her final year in high school.

The Jeff Van Ee Papers consist of the papers of environmentalist John Jeffrey Van Ee from 1974 to 2012 that document a portion of Van Ee’s environmental activity, notably his participation on environmental committees in the Las Vegas, Nevada area for water conservation and wildlife protection. The papers are comprised of correspondence, memoranda, reports, studies, newspaper clippings and meeting agendas and minutes.

Aplin Family Scrapbooks

Abstract
The Aplin Family Scrapbooks (1927-1971) consists of four handmade scrapbooks compiled by Hilda Aplin. The scrapbooks contain photographs, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and handwritten captions. The majority of the collection focuses on Hilda and Charles Aplin’s involvement in the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Las Vegas Eagles Auxiliary #1213. Also included is a photograph album that details the family’s activities from 1927 to 1959, including notable locations around Las Vegas, Nevada such as Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Mt. Charleston, and annual Helldorado parades.

The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Data Management, Needs Assessment, and Auditing Workgroup files document the workgroup’s efforts to manage, regulate, and assist Native American gaming enterprises from 1995 to 2007, with the bulk of materials dating from 1997 to 2001.The materials document the creation and administration of the workgroup, institutional and political approaches to Native American gaming, and national legislation about Native American issues. The materials include reports; a cooperative agreement between the BIA and NCAI; senate bills and testimonies; Legal Services Corporation reports and materials; "NCAI Sentinel" and BIA newsletters; informational packets; Dr. Spilde’s contract and notes on meetings and personal research; memos; legal briefs; book chapters from other scholars; surveys; journal articles; and newspaper articles.
Additional materials relating to NCAI can be found in the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) subject files located in general subject files. Materials directly related to Spilde’s activities as a member of the workgroup were placed in the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Data Management, Needs Assessment, and Auditing Workgroup files. Other materials about NCAI were placed in the NCAI subject files or the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) and the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) Joint Task Force files.

Question 2 debate: Richard Ziser and Liz Moore, 2000 November 01

Question 2 was an anti-same-sex marriage constitutional amendment passed by popular referendum in Nevada in 2000 and 2002. This video records a debate between Richard Ziser, director of the referendum's sponsoring organization, the Coalition for the Protection of Marriage in Nevada [CPM], and Liz Moore, director of Equal Rights Nevada [ERN], an organization established by the Nevada queer community to fight Question 2. The program which hosted this debate was POV Vegas, a half-hour public affairs program which debuted on July 12, 1999, sponsored by the Las Vegas Sun newspaper and broadcast on Las Vegas ONE, a 24-hour local news network which was a collaboration among the Las Vegas Sun, KLAS-TV Channel 8, and Prime Cable [Prime was purchased in 1998 by Cox Cable/Cox Communications], on channels 1 and 39. The general manager of Las Vegas ONE was Robert "Bob" Stoldal. The network operated from April 6, 1998 through January 9, 2010. The Front Page, approximately 1927 to 1939

The Front Page sub-series (approximately 1927-1939) is comprised of materials pertaining to the production process of The Caddo Company's April 4, 1931 release of The Front Page. The sub-series contains advertising and publicity, administrative, financial, legal, and production and direction, and story development records. Director Lewis Milestone, along with editor Duncan Mansfield and writers Ben Hecht, Charles MacArthur, and Bartlett Cormack helped the film earn Academy Awards nominations for Best Director and Best Picture in 1929. The black-and-white photographic prints and negatives, primarily attributed to Newton Hopcroft, depict set and production stills of the principal and supporting cast and locations in the film.
Advertising and publicity records include newspaper clippings detailing the film’s release, articles of local advertising campaigns, and publicity stills of principal and supporting cast members. Administrative records include correspondence pertaining to the editing, censorship, and distribution of the film, as well as shipping receipts. Legal records include supporting actor and domestic distribution contracts. Production and direction records include production stills of principal and supporting cast, interior and exterior sets, and a sound and production daily report ledger. The story development records include production scripts, as well as cutting continuities and dialogue scripts for domestic and international releases.

Abstract
Oral history interview with Ida Webb conducted by Claytee D. White on February 29, 1996 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Webb discusses her childhood in the American South. She discusses her family's move from Tallulah, Louisiana to McNary, Arizona, and then their migration to Las Vegas, Nevada. Webb shares her experiences as a young African American mother in Las Vegas in the 1940s and the things her and her husband did to provide for their family. She shares her views on her marriage and her views on African American culture of the time. Webb discusses her husband's civic involvement and his job at the Las Vegas Sun newspaper. She details her experiences working in the hospitality industry for such early casinos as the El Rancho Hotel & Casino, The Flamingo Hotel & Casino, and the Last Frontier Hotel & Casino. She shares her own civic involvements and her participation in the Culinary Workers Union Local 226.

The John D. Dombrink Gaming Research Files (approximately 1951-1990) contain the research files of John D. Dombrink in preparation for his book The Last Resort: Success and Failure in Campaigns for Casinos, published in 1991. The collection consists of newspaper clippings, journal articles, and public reports on a variety of topics and issues related to gaming in the United States, including organized crime, commercial gaming, and regulatory practices and issues. The collection also contains manuscript drafts for The Last Resort: Success and Failure in Campaigns for Casinos with handwritten revisions and comments by Dombrink, as well as correspondence about the book’s potential publication and promotion.

The Joyce Moore Papers (1958-2019) contain documents relevant to the life and career of Joyce Moore, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection contains Rancho High School yearbooks, and awards and grants from when Moore was a student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the early 1990s. Materials include research papers, event posters, photographs, and business cards related to Moore's work as an archivist in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Special Collections and Archives. The collection also contains photocopied newspapers and handwritten notes related to research done on the Las Vegas sewage system and local hospitals for Moore's academic papers.
