Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad Blueprints

Abstract

The Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad Blueprints consists of twenty-four of the original thirty blueprints as part of the Interstate Commerce Commission (I.C.C.) Valuation Index Section I. They are labeled "Right-of-Way & Track Map, Las Vegas & Tonopah Railroad" and dated June 30, 1915. The blueprints contain four miles of railroad lines per sheet with a scale of 6 3/4 inches per mile. The collection also includes one sheet from the Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad company, which used the track, yard, and facilities of the Las Vegas and Tonopah and Railroad company between Beatty and Goldfield, Nevada.

Abstract

The Las Vegas News Bureau Photograph Collection consists of black-and-white and color photographic prints, negatives, and slides depicting Las Vegas, Nevada from approximately 1940 to 1989. The images primarily depict hotels on the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, including Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, the Flamingo Hotel & Casino, and the Desert Inn Hotel and Casino. Also included are images of the convention center in Las Vegas and Cashman Field, as well images of entertainers performing on the Las Vegas Strip. The collection consists entirely of photographic reproductions.

The Schoolmaster's Club of Las Vegas, Nevada Records (1955-1976) contain the club bylaws and fliers, newspaper clippings about the club's activities, and planning documents for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas site and the Maude Frazier building dedication. The collection focuses on the club's role in planning for and establishing the Southern Regional Division of the University of Nevada campus (now known as University of Nevada, Las Vegas).
