Abstract

The David Fluke Papers on Las Vegas Entertainers consists of the notebooks of David Fluke, a Las Vegas, Nevada resident whose hobby was documenting entertainers and shows on the Las Vegas Strip from 1946 to 1981. His notebooks feature handwritten lists of entertainers' show dates and lounge acts, and include dates for the Las Vegas debuts of numerous performers. The collection also contains celebrity trivia and biographical sketches of various Las Vegas entertainers.

Abstract

The North Las Vegas Library District records (1959-2006) contain awards and commendations, events, scrapbooks, a diary and photographs relating to the building of the library, budgets, grants, and documents about the expansion project. Also included are four over-sized posters and three large floor plans, two for the garage and one library interior plan.

Description

Following the October 1, 2017 killing of 58 people at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival on the Las Vegas Strip, the Las Vegas community responded in a variety of ways. Envisioned by activists and built by volunteers, the City of Las Vegas established the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden at 1015 S. Casino Center Boulevard to honor the victims and give family members and the community a place to gather to remember.
