The Northern Nevada Neon Photograph Collection (1913-2010) is comprised of photographs of neon signs located mainly in northern Nevada cities and towns, including Elko, Ely, Carson City, Hawthorne, Reno, and Winnemucca. The collection consists of both digitized and born-digital photographs from multiple institutions and were gathered as part of a joint grant project.
The Georgia Lewis Photograph Collection contains black-and-white photographic prints and negatives primarily depicting Kyle Ranch, also known as Boulderado Ranch and Taylor Ranch, between approximately 1900 and 1950. The collection also features locations throughout Nevada such as Sloan, Panaca, Overton, and Indian Springs. Other images depict various individuals, including figures such as Grant Sawyer and J. Edgar Hoover, in Nevada locations and around the United States including Washington and Los Angeles, California.
The visual materials date from 1928 to 2011 and contain photographic negatives and prints documenting Paul Lavern Cumming's time working at Finocchio's in San Francisco, California, and as a cast member in Jewel Box Revue. Notable figures present in this series include Elton Paris, David de Alba, Ricky Renee, Reggie Dahl, Caroll Wallace, Holly White, Florencia de los Santos, J. J. Van Dyke, and Stormé DeLarverie. Several professional headshots were photographed by Bill Cogan, Emilie Romaine, Marc Troy, Concetta Jorgensen, and Robert Eklund.
The James D. O'Brien Photographs (approximately 1900-1929) are comprised of photograph albums and scrapbooks created by James D. O'Brien, surveyor, mining engineer and prospector. O'Brien's photographs feature locations throughout Central and Southern Nevada and Death Valley, California. Photographs depict life and work in mining camps; miners and their families; local Shoshone Indians; mining company financiers; landscape and mining towns. Locations include but are not limited to Pahrump, Nevada; Pioneer, Nevada; Rhyolite, Nevada; Wahmonie, Nevada; and Death Valley, California.
The Denny Lynch Photograph Collection (approximately 1900-1990) contains photographic prints and negatives of the Lynch family and their homes in Pahrump Valley and near Blue Diamond, Nevada. The photographs also depict locations and people throughout Nevada, primarily in Pahrump and Amargosa with a focus between approximately 1970 and 1990. Other photographs include local, state, and federal politicians in Nevada and Washington, D.C. Most of these photographs were collected by Denny Lynch for his newspaper, the Pahrump Tribune.
