In this interview, McDougal discusses the history of education in Southern Nevada. She specifically talks about University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her experiences as an educator.

Oral history interview with Ruth Gust conducted by Rebecca Bonenfant on March 10, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Gust discusses about her life in Nevada. Gust first talks about her original move to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947 and some of the first businesses that existed at the time. In this brief interview, she also talks about the first casinos, the culinary union, her employment as a server, and Mount Charleston.

Oral history interview with Russel Howard conducted by James W. Howard on January 10, 1972 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Howard recalls being transferred to Las Vegas, Nevada for work in 1947 and how impressed he was by the number of celebrities from the movie and entertainment industry that frequented Las Vegas in the early 1950s. He also discusses the expansion of the Las Vegas Strip and how rapidly the number of hotels grew.

Oral history interview with Barbara Cloud conducted by Shirley Emerson on May 30, 2006 for the UNLV @ 50 Oral History Project. Barbara Cloud discusses teaching journalism at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, building up the journalism program, becoming department chair, editor of Journalism history, and Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. She also discusses serving on the Nevada Commission of Colleges and Universities and the Nevada Humanities Committee, as well as currently indexing the Las Vegas Sun newspaper for digitization.

Oral history interview with Withania Neal conducted by Claytee D. White on July 09, 2006 for the Hurricane Katrina Survivors in Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Neal discusses her upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada. She remembers attending a sixth grade center, and going to Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Neal talks about her experience with hurricane season in Louisiana, evacuating, and the development of hurricane Katrina. She describes the broken levees, the flooding of New Orleans, and the chaos that followed. Lastly, Neal recalls the weeks after the hurricane, damaged homes, and the process of rebuilding the community.

Oral history interview with Elizabeth Garrison conducted by Walter John Ritzau on February 25, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Garrison first talks about her schooling in Las Vegas, Nevada, the atomic testing, the Devils Hole in Ash Meadows, early church involvement, and some of the environmental aspects of Las Vegas. Garrison later describes her work for the Central Telephone Company and the Helldorado Parade.
