The Ruth St. Denis Collection (1916-1986) contains materials relating to the St. Denis School of Dance in Los Angeles, California. Included are scrapbooks containing magazine cutouts from early 20th century performers and celebrities and programs featuring St. Denis or performances honoring her memory.
The Gwendolyn Woolley Photographs contain photographs from Las Vegas, Nevada from approximately 1934 to 1953. The photographs primarily depict students at the Junior Prom at Las Vegas High School in 1953. The photographs also depict members of the Ladies Society of Brotherhood of Firemen and Locomotive Engineers at the first Helldorado Parade in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Karen Allison Collection on Contract Bridge (1937-1997) contains instructional guides, pamphlets, and booklets explaining the rules and strategies for contract bridge, a card game. Included are correspondence and meeting minutes with contract bridge organizations with which Allison was associated. Also included are lists of players who participated in the Monte Carlo 5th World Bridge Olympiad in Monte Carlo, Monaco in 1976.
The Jean Hertzman Menu Collection (1970s-2000s) consists primarily of menus from Las Vegas, Nevada restaurants including several from casinos that are no longer in operation such as the Silver Slipper, the Thunderbird, and the Sahara. The collection also includes international menus, catering information for various Las Vegas casinos, a Los Angeles, California menu guidebook, and a corporate information packet for MGM Resorts International.
The Southern Nevada Women's Political Caucus Records (1981-1992) document a chapter of the National Women's Political Caucus. It was active in child care issues and in aiding women who aspired to be elected to public office. Included are chapter bylaws, minutes, newsletters, and information on local child care and the Act for Better Child Care Services of 1987. Also included are records of forums, conferences, dinners, newspaper advertisements, financial records, and membership information. There is national information, including a bumper sticker, and a poster.
The collection consists of two watercolor paintings donated and autographed by Las Vegas resident O.C. “Boots” LeBoutillier. The materials were painted and signed by Robert Carlin depicting the crash of Baron Manfred Von Richthofen's (the "Red Baron") airplane on April 21, 1918. LeBoutillier is also depicted in the paintings flying above as the "Red Baron" crashes after being shot down. The paintings were created approximately between 1970 to 1979.
The Norman C. Jensen Collection, dated from 1867 to 1968, contains documents discovered by Norman C. Jensen at Fort Taylor, Florida. The collection includes a copy of the "Report of a Guard Mounted at Fort Jefferson, Florida on May 28, 1867" that describes four individuals accused of conspiracy in connection with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. The collection also contains an original report entitled "Quarterly Report of Artillery Inspection of Fort Taylor, Florida" dated December 31, 1903, and Lt. Col. Jensen's notes explaining the military abbreviations contained within the original report.
The Charles Duncan (C.D.) Baker Papers (1951-1972) consist of clippings, correspondence, and political brochures related to the life and career of Las Vegas, Nevada Mayor Charles Duncan (C.D.) Baker. The collection also contains several scrapbooks of clippings and a mayoral plaque of appreciation from the City of Las Vegas.
