On March 14th, 1981, collector Greg Pushard interviewed postmaster Peggy Huber (born March 31st, 1884 in Conway, Arkansas) in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. This interview covers Peggy’s life in Nevada and also offers an insightful overview of Nevada’s rich history. During this interview Peggy discusses life on the ranch, mining, settlement, and the local early aboveground atomic blasts.

Abstract
The William White Postcard Collection (approximately 1930-1940) consists of three postcards depicting the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam) on the border of Nevada and Arizona. One postcard showcases Oskar J. W. Hansen’s “Figures of the Republic” sculptures near the Hoover Dam. Another postcard displays an interior view of the visitor’s gallery at the Hoover Dam. The final postcard depicts the Hoover Dam at sunset.

Baepler, Donald
Dr. Donald Baepler was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in July of 1932. The family moved to Springfield, Illinois in 1936, where his father was president of Concordia Seminary. Donald decided at the age of seven that he wanted to pursue a Ph.D. in ornithology, not an unusual goal in his family. By the time he graduated high school, he knew that he wanted to attend Carlton College in Minnesota to study under Olin Sewall Pettingill. He followed world-famous ornithologist and artist George Sutton to Michigan and then to Oklahoma to complete his doctorate.
