This collection contains the original drafts of the thirteen essays that Elizabeth Harrington wrote about her life in early Las Vegas, Nevada. These articles were written from her memory and experiences of life in Las Vegas beginning in the early 1900s, and were published in the Nevadan section of the Las Vegas Review-Journal from 1975-1979.

The Horse Racing Collection (1927-1979) contains brochures, handicapping information, programs, and articles written by Harry McCalla related to horse racing. There are also advertisements and clippings from racing forms. This material covers various venues in the United States.

The D. C. Frazer Photograph Collection (approximately 1970-1979) consists of six black-and-white photographs of various Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad workers, engine cars, and the repair shop located in Ludlow, California from approximately the 1910s through the 1930s. All photographs are reproductions.

The Byrd Wall Sawyer Collection primarily consists of Byrd's research files on Nevada from 1930 to 1970. The materials concentrate on her monograph, "Nevada Nomads," as well as her co-authored textbook, "Here is Nevada." The collection also includes speeches, journal articles, memos, research note cards and papers, correspondence, informational booklets and pamphlets, maps, photographs, audiovisual materials, and newspaper articles and clippings.
