Abstract

The Preservation Association of Clark County Photograph Collection consists of five black-and-white photographic prints and negatives from approximately 1980. Images depict scenes from the preservation process of the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort as well as images of members of the Preservation Association of Clark County, University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries, and Nevada government officials in Las Vegas, Nevada.

C. A. Earle Rinker Papers

Abstract

The C. A. Earle Rinker Papers (1880-1960) contain materials that document the history of early twentieth century Goldfield, located in central Nevada, as well as the life of Rinker. Materials in the collection include correspondence, mining prospectuses, maps, ledgers, souvenirs, photographic negatives, and ephemera that document mining and daily life. Also included is biographical material that tells the story of Earle Rinker and his family before 1906 and after 1909, documenting his life in Indiana and Illinois.

Horn, Alice Arleen Kimball, 1918-2007

Alice Arleen Kimball Horn was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was born December 22, 1918 in Smith County, Kansas to Anna and Mike Baetz. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1944 and lived there for sixty-two years, working for the Southern Nevada Telephone Company, also known as Centel and later known as Embarq. Horn died February 7, 2007.

Kennedy, Fred, 1909-1958

Fred Kennedy was a character and stunt actor known for his more than twenty-five years of experience. Born on December 22, 1909 in Ainsworth, Nebraska, Kennedy performed stunts in films including The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Red River (1948), and the Howard Hughes-produced The Conqueror (1956).

Kennedy died on December 05, 1958 in Natchioches, Louisiana while filming The Horse Soldiers.
