The J. T. McWilliams Photograph Collection contains photographs and postcards from Nevada and Southern California from approximately 1900 to 1970. The materials include postcards depicting Las Vegas, Nevada casinos such as El Rancho Vegas and the Golden Nugget Gambling Hall. The materials also include postcards depicting towns and scenes in Nevada such as Carson City, Rhyolite, Red Rock Canyon, and covered wagons traveling to Las Vegas. The Mint Hotel Photograph Collection consists of photographic prints and postcards from approximately 1960 to 1980. The collection includes photographs of the Mint’s “Behind the Scenes” tour during which guests experienced casino operations, and photographs and postcards of the hotel itself.

The Nevada Mining Photograph Collection depicts mining activities, miners, and mining towns in Nevada from 1868 to 1937. The photographs primarily depict the towns of Tonopah, Nevada and Goldfield, Nevada, including mills, buildings, mine shafts, and panoramic views of the landscape. The photographs also depict Beatty, Lost City, Delamar, Candelaria, Winnemucca, Virginia City, Rhyolite, Elko, and Reno, Nevada. The photographs also include portraits of early settlers in Nevada, Native Americans, children, parades, celebrations, and funerals.

The L. F. Manis Photographs contain photographic prints, photographic slides, and photographic negatives depicting Southern Nevada from approximately 1900 to 1969, with a bulk of the materials dating from 1930 to 1940. The photographs primarily depict the construction, dedication, and various parts of the Hoover (Boulder) Dam, including the dam's upstream and downstream faces, intake towers, spillways, bridges, crest, outlet works, visitors' accommodations, and powerhouse. The photographs also depict Lake Mead, the reservoir created by the Hoover Dam, and the Colorado River, which is dammed by the Hoover Dam. The photographs also include views of desert landscapes in the Southwestern United States, including in Nevada, Arizona, and Southern California. Also depicted in the photographs are the cities of Las Vegas, Nevada and Boulder City, Nevada, including prominent buildings like hotels, casinos, government buildings, and train depots.
